SP9 - 9th International Conference on Semiconductor Photochemistry
Welcome to the 9th International Conference on Semiconductor Photochemistry (SP9), held in Madrid, Spain, on September 9 – 12, 2025.
Launched in 2001 in Glasgow, the international meeting series SP progressively gained over the last 20 years its renown among the most relevant meetings in semiconductor photochemistry and photocatalysis by travelling around Europe. Hosted in Aberdeen (2007), Glasgow (2010), Prague (2013), Saint Petersburg (2015), Oeldenburg (2017), Milan (2019) and Strasbourg (2023), SP will take place in Madrid in 2025.
The SP9 conference will be preceded by a one-day thematic school to the attention of doctoral students and young researchers.
Scientific Topics
In the fields of photocatalysis, photothermal catalysis, photoelectrochemistry or photovoltaics, topics of interest for submission to SP9 include, but are not limited to:
solar to electricity conversion
air and water remediation
solar fuels
organic synthesis and solar chemicals
modelling and mechanistic studies
chemical engineering
new materials
operando/in-situ characterization
commercial applications and standardization
functionalized and self-cleaning surfaces
Additional topics in related areas are strongly encouraged.
Through plenary and keynote lectures, oral presentations, poster talks and poster sessions, the ambition of the SP9 conference is to report on the most advanced research progresses in semiconductor photochemistry and photocatalysis, and to pave the way for future research and challenges.
